Palermo Pride

This year's slogan was "neither lands nor bodies are territories of conquest".

Sicilians have been subject to multiple invasions from multiple civilzations, toppling the previous occupiers and then asserting their dominion.
Fiercly stubborn, we never fully accepted most of occupant, including the Italian state.

Similarly, our bodies are in constant jeopardy from the “respectable” ideologies that want to dictate what we are allowed to do with our own bodies.

Inspired by this sentiment I set out to capture a plurality of people reclaiming their bodies as they reclaimed the streets of Palermo.
